In our efforts to ensure the safety of each of our students, we ask that parents contact the school if their children will be absent. Our office is open from 8:30-4:30pm. Should you wish to call outside of office hours, you may leave a message on our answering machine, at (613) 393-3262.
At Pinecrest School, we believe...
Pack it In, Pack it Out Lunches
As part of our efforts to be environmentally friendly, and foster a sense of environmental responsibility and awareness in our children, we will be continuing with our “Pack it In, Pack it Out” lunch policy this year at Pinecrest School. This means that once students have finished eating, all containers and remaining food will be packed back into their lunch bag and returned home at the end of the day. In order to facilitate this process, it would be helpful to pack snack and lunch items in re-usable, re-sealable containers, to eliminate mess in student lunch bags. It may also be helpful to include an empty sealable bag or container to hold any unfinished items, fruit peelings, etc. Thank you for helping us to do our part to help our environment!
At Pinecrest School, we welcome and encourage parent and community volunteers. We value and appreciate the important work that they do. Board policy requires that volunteers having direct contact with students have a current Criminal Background Check. A standard form will be provided by our office to assist with this requirement. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks to obtain a records check. Once a background check is on file with the school, please be aware that volunteers will be required to complete an annual Offence Declaration Form (Form F498-3) if they wish to continue to volunteer at our school.
In addition, anyone volunteering to transport students, will need to obtain and complete an Excursion Authorization for Drivers Form (Form F230-6). Please note, that a separate form will be required for each excursion for which you volunteer.
If you have any questions, please contact our school office at 1-613-393-3262.
